 What is Reiki?

The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century, which is activated by intention.

Reiki’s natural healing energy works on every level, not just the physical, and promotes the body’s regenerative self healing ability.

Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. Known as ‘ki’ in Japan, ‘chi’ in China and ‘prana’ in India. Acupuncture, T’ai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.

Reiki is a non-invasive therapy whose purpose is to treat holistically and to restore well being. Anybody may receive a Reiki treatment no matter how young or old, big or small.  

What happens in a Reiki Treatment?

Reiki treatments usually last for about one hour. During this time you remain fully clothed but will be asked to remove your shoes and lie on a treatment table, or be seated if that is more comfortable. I will very lightly place my hands over the energy points of your body for a few minutes. Reiki treatments are non intrusive so that you will feel comfortable at all times throughout your treatment. During this time you may feel some heat or cold coming from my hands which is a very soothing and calming experience.

After the treatment you will be offered some water and we can discuss your experience of having Reiki.

All treatments are personal and it is difficult to describe in words how wonderful this healing energy is. It is best to try it for yourself.

    Reiki Pricing

    First Session

    For your first session please allow 1hr 20 mins.  I will ask you to complete a health form (before any treatment).  Followed by a session of reiki.

    Subsequent Sessions 

    Please allow 70 minutes.  This will follow up on your previous appointment and we can discuss any changes. Followed by a session of reiki.
